We know we named ourselves after a ...but we don’t actually serve pickles! Yeah, it’s kind of weird. we like being weird.
Please note - our menu changes based on the event, the alignment of the planets, & possibly the migration patterns of the rare miniature house hippo. We pretty much have no idea what we will serve until we sense from the great cosmic force what it tells us we should serve... but we usually serve up the mini donuts no matter what.

Hot Press’d sandwiches
sometimes...when the wind is blowing from the right direction, Andrea will offer her absolutely tasty hot press’d sandwiches (that she served from her food truck called Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen)...these sandwiches are a little bit legendary, and people have been known to travel from far and wide to get them. BTW - these are limited, so when the last one is sold, there is no more until the next time!

Most Friday evenings from 4-8pm & saturdays from 10am to 2pm you can find us at the Miquelon provincial park farmers’ market - we have the mini donuts, the ice cream, the sausage & a selection of the sandwiches : )
June 28, 29 & 30 - Wild Oats & notes music festival - select sandwiches will be there, along with the mini donuts & ice cream!
august 9 - Tofield Western Days Promenade night 4pm-maybe 10pm in the alley behind the tofield hotel. Yes, select sandwiches are being served up hot : ), along with the sausage, mini donuts & ice cream!
august 24 - Barnes harley-davidson event in SW edmonton. yes, select sandwiches are being served up hot : ), along with the sausage, mini donuts & ice cream!
august 31 to Sept 2 - Tofield Softball tournament - It’s all Ice cream & mini Donuts!!!! (well and some drinks & candy)

Hey man! We are the Groovy Gherkin!
We are a groovin’ little mobile food trailer based out of leduc county in central alberta, canada. we love to attend small epic events & serve awesome yumminess to people of all walks of life.
We like to go to all sorts of funky festivals, Small Town Celebrations & farmers’ markets. we also do private events! looking for a cool little trailer to serve up yummy treats? contact us to inquire.
We are a division of Street Food by Aj Ltd. The same people who brought you the food truck Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen (AKA Stella’s) that served the legendary poutine & press’d sandwiches. We no longer serve the Fries & poutine...but we sometimes offer our sandwiches. well Andrea sometimes offers the sandwiches that people Still dream about.
Life is for livin’! (birth of a dream)
In 2021, Andrea had an epiphany: life's too short to snooze through it! So, she waved goodbye (a bit earlier than planned) to her 25-year career, cashed in her pension (gulp), and dove headfirst into the world of food trucks. The kicker? She had never even set foot in one before! Her foodie journey started way back at 15, flipping burgers at those famous golden arches, then mixing drinks at 20 as a bartender.
Now, zip to February 2022. First stop: snagging a sweet food trailer with a mini donut maker - an instant match made in foodie heaven for the birth of Groovy Gherkin! Next up, a custom food truck from Canada Food Trucks in Calgary. After a road trip to choose our dream truck, hashing out the kitchen design, making the down payment, and twiddling our thumbs in anticipation, the big day came in March - Stella was ready! With hearts racing, we cruised off with Stella in early April. Woohoo!
We had a gazillion plans and dreams! We were ready to take on the world! We were like two peas in an overly optimistic pod, bursting with excitement for our grand escapade! We had mountains of knowledge to uncover, without a clue about the curveballs waiting for us. But when the dust settled, we opted to kick off with just the food truck for our debut season. Introducing Stella & Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen - let the culinary adventures begin!
The Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen was a magical land of fries, poutines, and scrumptious hot pressed sandwiches that left taste buds dancing! Our food was so irresistible that fans couldn't wait to get the scoop on our next event, eager to dive into their beloved flavors.
Stella the truck, the fearless carrier of the legendary Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen (AJs Street Kitchen), embarked on epic adventures across lands near and far for two thrilling seasons.
In the hip summer of 2023, we unveiled the Groovy Gherkin food trailer and dished out joy-packed mini donuts in bite-sized bags of happiness! The little GG followed Stella out to some small but epic events, like the New Sarepta Demolition Derby and he learned the ways of serving up tastiness to crowds of hungry people.
Alas, we said goodbye to Stella & the Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen in October 2023.
This season, we're mixing up the deliciousness of AJs Street Kitchen and the fun mini Ds and ice cream treats of The Groovy Gherkin to bring you the return of the incredible hot press'd sandwiches! Well, kind of - they're a rare treat and not always on the menu. But hey, when a magical double rainbow graces the sky, you might just get lucky and find them waiting for you!
Here come the Sammiches!!!
El cubano, l’italiano, chicken & pesto, Spicy Buffalo Soldier & the (not-such-a-jerk chicken) sandwiches will all see the press again in some unexpected places : )

This little jewel of a deli can be found on mainstreet in Coaldale, Alberta. They ave a long history of crafting up some of Alberta’s finest sausages, preserves and pickles. We promise, once you taste their wares, you will be hooked and (possibly) flyin’ down the highway to find more!
Freson Bros. Market

Without these buns, our hot press’d sandwiches wouldn’t be the same! Freson Bros. Market is another great Alberta family business that started in 1955 in Hinton, Alberta. They offer incredible products some made in house, and many brought in from other Alberta producers. Shopping in their grocery stores is an incredible experience and you are sure to find many new favourites that will become staples in your kitchen.
